 Cross Country Start Time entry

The dialog box below is used for manual start time entry on any sheet in the file be it an event sheet, or the combined start list.  You may indicate the time-of-day start time of the tournament and the interval of each group, or you may indicate that the race will start at "0" hour and the start interval of each group.  If you are directly downloading from a timer, these manually entered start times get over-written by the actual start times as determined by the timer.  If you are hand timing your race, you can start the official clock at "0" hour and manually enter finish times as the time elapsed from "0" hour until the racer finishes.

If you are not using direct timer communication you may manually enter start times either on an event sheet or on a "combined start list" as shown below.  Valiant combines racers from the score sheets you choose and allows you to sort this sheet any way you want.  You can then enter the start order and start times using commands from the Registration menu and then transfer that information back to the original score sheets.  The sheet shown indicates that the racers will start at "0" hour, go off in groups of 4, and the interval between groups is 30 seconds.  This sheet can be printed and used by your starters.

The sheet below is the Girls 5K event score sheet with the information transferred from the combined start list.  It is ready for the entry of finish times.  In manual entry it is necessary to search the sheet for the bib number (the F5 key brings up a search dialog box handy for large numbers of contestants).  You would then enter the finish time.

Below is the same score sheet but with actual start times downloaded directly from a CP705.  The data comes in as time-of-day to two decimal places and the original manually entered start times are overwritten by the actual start times.

Pictured below are the commands contained in the Registration menu when using Cross Country scoring.
